Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

SPIA is a web application that helps users assess whether images and videos may be AI-generated or manipulated. These terms and our privacy practices apply when you use the SPIA website and service.

Terms of Use

Last updated: May 6, 2026

Acceptable use

You agree to use SPIA only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the service. You must not upload content that is illegal, that you do not have the right to submit, or that is intended to harass, exploit, or harm anyone. You must not attempt to probe, disrupt, or bypass our systems, security measures, or rate limits, or use SPIA to build competing services through scraping or automated abuse unless we give you written permission.

No warranties

SPIA is provided “as-is” and “as-available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee absolute accuracy of detection results. Detection scores are estimates based on third-party AI models and may produce false positives or false negatives. Users are responsible for independently verifying important content.

No guarantee of results

SPIA uses automated models to estimate the likelihood that media is AI-generated or synthetic. Results are estimates only and are not guaranteed to be accurate. There can be false positives, false negatives, and uncertain cases. Output may depend on file quality, format, length (for video), and limitations of the underlying detection technology. SPIA is not a substitute for professional judgment, legal advice, forensic analysis, or official certification. You should treat every result as indicative, not definitive.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising from your use of SPIA or reliance on its results. Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (or, if you have not paid us, zero), except where the law does not allow such limitations.

Indemnification

By using SPIA, you agree that SPIA, its operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from decisions, actions, or omissions made based on SPIA’s verification results. You agree to use the service at your own risk and to hold SPIA harmless from any claims arising from your use of the verification results.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Mexico. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the use of SPIA shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

Changes

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of SPIA after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms where permitted by law.

What we collect

When you use SPIA to verify media, we process the images and videos you upload (or paste) in order to run detection. We may also collect limited technical information needed to operate the site, such as standard server logs (for example, approximate timestamps and error diagnostics). Some features (free verifications) do not require an account. Premium features, when available, will require registration with an email address.

How long we keep your data

The original uploaded file is not retained. Only the verification metadata associated with the public URL is stored permanently. After processing, the file itself is deleted or overwritten on our systems within a reasonable operational period unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary to investigate abuse.

When you use a public verification URL (for example, a path of the form /v/{id}), the record for that link and its metadata — including date, media type, verification result, and AI probability score — is retained indefinitely, even after the original uploaded file has been deleted. Third-party providers that help us run detection may have their own retention rules; we use them only to deliver the service and under appropriate agreements.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your uploaded images, videos, or personal information to third parties. We do not use your uploads for targeted advertising profiles. If we ever work with vendors or partners, it is to host, secure, or analyze content strictly to provide SPIA, not to monetize your data.
